Visual Dexterity Logo
08.25.2005
Logo design for a fictitious graphic/web/multimedia design company named Visual Dexterity. The logo was designed so that each part could be used separately to represent the company; this gives it more flexibility in different design situations.

The logo consists of an abstract pictorial with geometric shapes at the top and a logotype made up of the letters “V” and “D” fused together; on the left of the abstract pictorial is another logotype made up of the words “Visual” (set in the Myriad typeface) and “Dexterity” (set in the Century Gothic typeface). These two components can be used separately to fit the needs of a design solution. However, the abstract pictorial must constructed so that the fused “VD” is ransparent and the background shows through it. The “Visual Dexterity” logotype is meticulously designed; “Visual” is set at a size 1.4375 times larger than “Dexterity,” and “Dexterity’s” height is reduced to 64% of its original height. Tracking for both is set at -50 to reduce spacing between the letters.
